Frequently Asked Questions

Is this an American Heart Association Certification Course?

Yes, all of our courses are derived from American Heart Association research and science and certificate cards are from the American Heart Association.

When do I need to renew my course completion card?

Course completion cards are valid for two years through the end of the month during which the course completion card was issued.

I lost my course completion card. How do I get a replacement?

It is the responsibility of the AHA Training Center to issue a duplicate card if a card is lost, mutilated or otherwise becomes unusable. All requests for duplicate or replacement cards must be submitted directly to CPR Solution Saint Louis by email @ training@cpr.solutions.  There is a $7.00 fee for processing replacement (hardcopy) cards.  The ecard system is a feasible solution to lost hard copy cards.  E-cards are housed on the American Heart Association site and are maintained for a period of two years.

I signed up for a class via the American Heart Association “find a course” website.  Does this guarantee my place in a class?

You may reserve a seat through the AHA website, but course completion is not finalized until a student has registered on our website, entered personal information and submitted the course fee.  Priority is given to students who have completed this process.

What is the cancellation policy?

  • Instructors and equipment are secured two weeks prior to course dates.  Because of this committment, we are unable to issue a full refund within two weeks of the course start date.  However, students can reschedule a session.  There will be a $10.00 administrative fee to reschedule a course within two weeks of the course date.
  • Students must notify CPR Solution Saint Louis by phone (314) 288-4124 or email (training@cpr.solutions) 48 hrs before the start of a class in order to reschedule a class session.  If notification is not received within this time frame students may be charged for the full cost of the course.  Costs are determined on a case by case basis.
  • Purchased student manuals will be mailed to the address on record, up to 2 days after the scheduled course date has been missed.  Course seating is held on a first come first served basis.
  • Students who do not complete registration are not guaranteed seating in any course provided by CPR Solution Saint Louis.  An inquiry on the AHA Instructor network does not constitute a full registration.  Please complete your registration on the www.cpr.solutions home page.
  • CPR Solution Saint Louis will make every effort to maintain scheduling, and will only cancel classes in the event of an extreme emergency or inclement weather.  In the event of cancellation, all fees will be refunded or class will be rescheduled at a date and time that suits the needs of the students.  We will make every effort to work around your individual schedule.
  • Per the AHA policy, there are no refunds for the online courses.

Are CEU credits available for taking instructor led courses (BLS, ACLS, or PALS)?

American Heart Association is now able to offer continuing education credits through CECBEMS for EMS students who have successfully passed the AHA provider classroom courses. CECBEMS is a national provider of continuing education credits for EMS professionals only.

Because the continuing education approval process for nurses & physicians is much more involved, CME/CE credit for these professions will not be available through the AHA at this time.

Continuing education credit will continue to be offered for multiple professions for completion of AHA online courses.

How can I tell if my card is a valid AHA course completion card?

To check the validity of an AHA course completion card, contact the Training Center that issued the card. The Training Center’s information can be found on the back of the card.  Our training center is: Saint Charles County Ambulance District

Where are the open enrollment (instructor-led) courses offered?

Our courses are currently available at the Spencer Road Library in Saint Peters.  We continue to add new locations.  You can verify the location of the course, by opening a course offering.  Directions to the location will be made available after selecting the desired course.

Where can I purchase the required books or materials?

Books/course materials are available for purchase as an add on item, available when completing your registration for each course.  If you would like to purchase items from an outside source or purchase an ebook, please consult the American Heart Association website; http://ebooks.heart.org.

When will I receive my certification card?

The American Heart Association provides that training centers have 30 days to issue cards to students that have successfully completed a certification course.  The Saint Charles County Ambulance District distributes our training cards, and very rarely takes more than 1 week to disburse cards.  Proof of completion of the certification course can be supplied to each student at the completion of each class.  This will serve as proof of certification to your employer/school.

We are working to provide same days cards, and hope to have this up and running momentarily.

Can you alert me when my AHA card expires?

Of course we can.  If you attend a CPR Solution Saint Louis certification course, we will provide you with an automated reminder of your card expiration within 3 months of the date it expires.

When are the open enrollment and skill session classes offered?

We normally offer classes every Sunday.  Courses are usually held at the Spencer Road Library, but please be alert for additional locations, when selecting the desired course date/time.  We look forward to meeting you.

What is an AHA e-card?

An AHA eCard is the electronic equivalent of a printed course completion card and can be provided to students as an alternative to a printed card. eCards are valid course completion cards and can be presented to employers as proof of successful completion of an AHA course. Like printed cards, eCards also expire two years from the issue date.

Are AHA ecards Secure?

AHA eCards are more secure than printed cards. A three-point verification by the TCC, Instructor and student, is required to issue and claim eCards. eCard information is populated electronically by the TCC or Instructor and can only be altered by the TCC or AHA Customer Service by using AHA’s My Cards™. eCards can be easily verified by employers at www.heart.org/cpr/mycards to prove issuance by a valid TC and Instructor aligned with that TC.

Are AHA ecards Mandatory?

No, they are optional. Each Training Center will determine whether they distribute eCards or the physical course completion cards. Only one of the two will be issued per participant

Is there a way employers can verify the authenticity of an AHA e-card?

Yes, employers may verify that an AHA eCard is authentic by entering the card information at www.heart.org/cpr/mycards.

The AHA has also created a memo on the validity of eCards for employers who may request an official AHA statement. Click here for this memo.

Can an AHA eCard be printed?

Yes. An AHA eCard can be printed by the student or Instructor, if necessary.

Can edits be made to an AHA ecard?

After a student claims an eCard, the student’s AHA TCC/TC Admin or the AHA Customer Support Center is able to make edits to the course date, the Instructor name, and the student’s name or email address.

How do students claim and AHA ecard on the Training Center has emailed e-Cards?

Students who have been assigned/emailed an eCard will receive an email inviting them to claim their eCard online. From the email, students will click on a hyperlink to view their eCard. This hyperlink will direct students to the Student Profile webpage.

On the Student Profile page, students confirm or edit their contact information; set up a security question and answer that will be used to access their individual eCard Profile in the future; and agree to the AHA’s standard Terms of Use.

Students are then asked to complete a brief six-question survey about their class experience. Once the student survey has been completed, students will see their individual eCard.

To print these instructions, click here.

Are AHA eCards available for Instructor Courses?

No. eCards are limited to only provider-level course completion cards. There is no plan to create an electronic Instructor card.

What Our Customers Say...

Antwonette is a superb instructor.  She is not only extremely knowledgeable, but she is also a gifted teacher who transfers her knowledge with clarity and enthusiasm.  Antwonette was sincerely interested in my success and full of comprehension of the material.  CPR class may seem like on of those "have-to-do-tasks", but I can honestly say that I look forward to working with her again in the future, when I need to renew my certification.

Will definitely recommend Antwonette for training my family.  She is by far the best BLS Instructor that I have had in 25 years.

Wonderful! So much better (for me) than sitting in a classroom for hours.  The online videos allowed me to stay with my kids, while still learning the material.  You guys were great!
